Our Pest Control Technicians have extensive experience in monitoring and managing aquatic pest infestations.
Why Lakes Become Pest Breeding Grounds
Lakes and other water bodies can become ideal breeding habitats for aquatic pests that have public health importance like mosquitoes, Chironomid midges, and biting midges. In the middle east, the warm weather provides these pests with year‐ around breeding season. If left un‐managed, the populations of these pests can reach alarming levels that pose high risk for residents, visitors and staff working around these lakes. Some of these pests (like mosquitoes) and closely monitored by municipalises and other government agencies and hefty fines will be given to properties that harbour these public health pests.
Our Integrated Pest Management Method
We control aquatic pests with an integrated programme that targets the breeding source, not just the adult insects. We start with a site survey to identify the species and the breeding areas, such as stagnant edges, shallow zones, vegetation, and bed sludge. We then reduce breeding habitat through sludge removal, vegetation control and improved circulation and aeration, and apply approved larval control measures where needed. Treatments are applied by trained, licensed technicians and monitored through regular inspections, with results reported to the property manager. This approach cuts mosquito and midge numbers at the source and keeps them down over time.
